- i need to reorganize some things on this computer so i'm progressing linearly again (done)
- i need to finish the temperature adjusting things (ceilings, windows, insulation, wiring) <---now

- need to be able to get shelving out of boxes to use boxes for paneling
- need to be able to install shelving to get it out of boxes
- need to clean front area to install shelving

- i need to make some adjustments in rooms one and two (carpets, wire, doorknobs)

as mentioned, i need to do the following to update the laundry:

- rat wiring
- carpet cleaning
- door knob switch
- panels
- i still need to fix the hole in the back

and the following to update the bathroom:

- door knob switch
- paneling
- plank over toilet
- fix some broken items
- take note of things done
- i need to finish room three, the kitchen

i got sucked back into kitchen stuff last night when i started doing groceries and i just want to make a short list of things i'm still looking at:

- my glass bowls got cancelled by the seller, so i'm looking for three 25 ounce and three 75 ounce glass bowls, the former for cereal and prep and the latter for meals. i eat some meals on plates, sure. but i mostly eat meal-sized salads, including fruit salads and salsas, so i like the gigantic salad bowls and will often have to put it away for later, although these are not absurdly gigantic. i've seen bigger.
- i'm looking at a sodastream. yeah, well, i'm being comprehensive, i said that. i have two coffee makers and four blenders (a big one for soup, a small one for smoothies, a food processor for some vegetables i like chopped closely and a herb grinder for marijuana), so why not a pop maker? i will sometimes drink very large amounts of mt dew or dr pepper, especially when i'm also drinking vodka. it could save me money in the long run.
- i'm looking at a mini dishwasher. do i need a dishwasher? no, i don't. however, if i'm moving to all glass dishes, it makes sense to get one, because they clean glass better, specifically. the mini dishwashers do not require hose hookups and can take about a meal's worth of dishes from me. great. it's a bit expensive, but then i have one. can i get one for under $150? can i get one that's the right size? then i probably will.
- i'm also looking at some brushes for the skinny glasses, which is a lot cheaper, to put it mildly
- i need to replace my old plastic brita with a glass pitcher
- i'm looking at a whiteboard for the fridge, which currently has scrawled over pieces of paper taped to it
- i need to update the chromebook in the kitchen so it can access my diet blog, as well as the koala oversight committee, and also be used to make grocery lists and buy groceries
- i have a fair amount of shelving to put on the wall and under the sink.
- i have a light fixture to install over the stove
- i'm looking at getting shelving in for pots over the stove and over the fridge. i'm trying to avoid installing hooks.
- the console table on the side will have some overflow kitchen storage
- aluminum paneling. probably. the kitchen and living room might not be the best place for it. i might be better off in the halls first, trying to reflect heat back in, and in the garage, trying to keep heat in.

so, i still have a lot of things to do in the kitchen.

i'm now caught up with the computer things and can get a start on this

the way i'm going to be doing this is month by month and i'll be reposting it as i get through each month. what i want to make sure is that i've "installed" everything i've bought for in here since october, so i'm going to be neurotic about it, as i tend to be. for example, i know i still have uncut wood from december. so, i'm going to go back to october and catalog it all to make sure it's organized and i didn't miss anything, go to november, december, etc and i'll eventually having everything installed and be caught up within a few more days.

- update pictures not uploaded, date properly, update vlogs in room page posts, finish laundry/bathroom/kitchen
- update appendices
- ensure all purchases are properly installed by systematically working through bank data as updating appendices
- collect boxes for items organized by room as possible

- fix holes (cdn tire buy: caulking, cement)
- need to get boxes out of front in order to install panels
- organize boxes by room as getting boxes out of front  (boxes from 2013 items in pile, to start)
- need to clear stereo table out of side and put in right place where boxes are
- need to move boxes first.
- boxes contain books that go on shelves.
- need to install shelves in library and bedroom.
- first item in appendix A to install is cube shelving
- need to clean area near shelves   <----you are here.

work to do in already finished spaces:
- laundry: hole in backyard, screw mesh over two holes to block rats, put up paneling with insulation in key places, clean carpets, swap door knob with bathroom
- bathroom: reflective sauna panelling, put wood panel on toilet top, swap door knob with bathroom, note that (1) flosser in, (2) mini usb humidifier in, (3) swapped lights for 1500 lumens, (4) glued mirrors on cardboard
- kitchen: take note of many new items, cut wood for skinny shelves, shelf over mini fridge (done), shelf over stove, shelf under counter, install light over stove, try to fix or update chromebook, panelling on ceiling, kitchen system should have (1) koala oversight committee, (2) diet blog, (3) grocery list purchase options but also find a whiteboard for the kitchen

- entrance: tables, new couch maybe, zoom table with zoom devices, use of console table for kitchen items after all, exercise bike, vacuum charging?, put chain on furnace and stopper on front
- listening room: coffee tables, speaker tables, old coffee table behind amp cabinet?, pi connected to larger tv sized hdmi monitor for potential tv-like use
- garage: hole in side, sealant under steps, rat holes, mesh screen (done), bike racks, tables, couch, electrical, side lamps , second water spout issue
- library: clean, shelving, charging table, vaccuum charging?
- bedroom: mesh (done), shelving, fans, ipad for sleeping, panelling, windows (done)
- build network.
- studio: remainder

- don't forget to go through the cheap list at walmart and amazon

notes for later:

1) a small but usable bedroom, partly because much of the storage that you expect in a bedroom exists elsewhere in the apartment, but big enough for a stereo system, a study/writing desk and a bedside computer pc typing system
2) a large enough bathroom for substantive shelving, full wall mirrors and a makeup table
3) a walk-in closet off of the bathroom (not the bedroom) with built-in laundry and a dedicated sewing area
4) an eat-in kitchen with expanded counter and shelving space
5) a side entrance with a space for coat and shoe storage
6) a voip phone and zoom (via voip videophone) area off of the kitchen
7) about 150 square feet of studio space
8) a small couch area with a stereo for listening
9) space for an exercise bike off the front entrance
10) a device charging area behind the front door
11) a 150 square foot work and storage area as a functional in-unit garage or actual basement in parallel to the apartment, with functional 2-level storage built in.
12) sufficient wall space for cd and book storage
