canada decided to let the free market deal with immigration, and it's been a complete disaster.

we need more regulatory oversight, not less. yet, the government is actually continuing to deregulate immigration oversight, and it's just going to get worse and worse.
perhaps they should focus on building water treatment facilities for the country's indigenous population, instead.

my understanding is that there's actually a single decision that is responsible for the sudden influx of temporary workers, and that is the government's purposeful and intentional decision to do away with impact assessments during the application process.

the government has the ability to restore oversight to the process by returning to a historical norm that is inevitable anyways. it is insane to let private corporations deregulate immigration policy. this is a clear government responsibility.

until they take this obvious step, they are merely bloviating and misleading all of us. they know what to do. they can do it, or blither or on about nonsense and pretend they're doing something, when the policy is actually to drive down wages on purpose.

biden claims that killing the leader of hamas is "unhelpful" in generating a "ceasefire".

the israelis were exceedingly clear that the purpose of the war is to eliminate hamas. there is not going to be a ceasefire with hamas. hamas is going to be destroyed.

as per usual, biden simply doesn't get it.
