i've got all of the posts for nov, 2014 up, now.

i actually could get this done before i sleep next, but right now is a good time to stop to eat in the thunderstorm.
so, october, 2014 is now permanently put aside for a long time.

i'm actually going to do a final run through over 2014 to ensure consistency across various threads (what i'm doing right now is uploading all of the posts, and i lost consistency at some point), so duplicate posts may be deleted from one or more blogs, and some posts may be move around.

but, i need to get through november & december, first.

for now, here are the updated blogs for october, 2014

so, they want to legislate the powers granted under the declaration of a state of emergency...

obviously, i'm a little apprehensive about that.

listen - if the options are that you stay in a state of emergency for the next year, or you pass a law that grants you emergency powers for the next year with specific oversight committees, then the second option is even arguably allowing for more oversight, even if it runs the dangers of normalizing these powers. but, staying in a state of emergency indefinitely is going to do that, anyways. it seems largely trivial, in the short run.

if they decide to try to normalize this through legislation any further, it just signals that they weren't going to ease up on the state of emergency, and we would have had to fight that, anyways.

for now, it's concerning, if trivial.

but, let's be ready to keep them at their word when these terms expire.
