in theory, if your computer is fast enough and smart enough, you should be able to feed it a virus and blood sample and have it print you a dose of antibodies. that would eliminate the concept of viruses.

but, do you see any quantum computers around?

i don't.

so, we're going to have old people dying of viruses, still, for many decades to come.
if you think that the elderly will ever be able to live "normal lives" free from the fear of viruses, then you're living in a fantasy reality and need to wake up.

that wasn't true before, and it's never going to be true in the future - not until we can develop personalized medicine kits built into 3d-printing devices, driven by quantum computers.

and, that's a long ways away.
ok, so it's like the flu - you'll need to get vaccinated on a yearly basis, if that's how you want to do this. this is not surprising. or you could just stop worrying about a mild virus and move on...

can we stop being retarded about this and open the borders and the bars, already, then?

so, are they going to examine the bones of those 215 kids from the residential school to determine a cause of death?
so, let me finish these narratives from two weeks ago and post them where they should be, so i can shut this down and reboot the machine.
......and, i would encourage advertisers in the province to ignore the government's fascist tactics, which break the spirit of the law if not the rule of it, and go ahead and advertise in the banned period, anyways.

if they want to do draconian things like this, we have an obligation to defy them as best we can.
i haven't looked at the decision or the bill closely, but if the judge decided that the bill was a restriction on speech rights, the judge was probably right - and the bill should probably be struck down.

free speech is paramount in a free society, and restrictions on speech rights should be minimal to non-existent. that's why we have a constitution - that's what it's for. and, it seems to me like, in striking the law down, the system is probably working properly.

it should really be a cause for celebration, that the judiciary was able to successfully overturn an unconstitutional bill - that's a victory for the rule of law.

the legislature should respect that and learn from it in refraining from writing further laws that attempt to restrict speech, not try to strongarm a response through.
i'm not actually opposed to citizens united, and i would call on the government of ontario to respect the constitution and not use the notwithstanding clause to overrule what is really a triviality in a functioning democracy.

the reason that the fake left hates citizen united is that they've gutted education to the point that people are unable to articulate anything that wasn't placed in their heads by media. while they have a point in arguing for the dominating influence of media in elections (see manufacturing consent), their solution (to restrict speech they don't like, because it might influence people in ways they don't like) is horrible and wrong-headed. so, i have a libertarian-left position on this, which is consistent with my broad political philosophy. i don't self-identify as a "progressive", and i never have.

this idea that ford cares about restricting media in the election is a farce - he's trying to do away with the constitution, and he's done a number of things (including his restrictions on travel across provincial boundaries) that seem to be designed with the intent to attack constitutional norms. he seems to be aligned with the federal government on this, and it doesn't seem to be particularly random.

in the end, if our leaders don't want to follow the rule of law, then they lose the legitimacy to govern, and it's time to replace them.
i got my bone-related blood lab in the mail (still no check, though. hrmmn.) so i'm going to stop to clean today.

i'm very, very close to getting back to it, and when i do i'll start with uploading versions of inri076 and inri080. the projects in front of me are now going to be inri075, inri077 and inri078, and that will get me to the inri records compilations, which is the next pause.

while i suppose that another catastrophe may be in front of me still, it seems like i'm back to work. imminently.

as mentioned several times now, it's going to work like this:

- music over weekends
- alter-realities (starting in 1989 and hopefully stabilizing shortly. i didn't really start listening to much rock music until about 92 or 93, so i still have time) on fridays
- music journal catchups in the week (i have to do the diet thing, first)
these are important policy questions to discuss, as we awaken from the delusions of infinite growth.

how many people can canada actually support in a way that most people are comfortable? how much housing can we build? what are the limits around us?

these aren't empty questions, and they have derivable answers - we just need to build the models to understand it. and, we may have forgotten that this is the kind of thing government is supposed to do, rather than just act as a layer between taxation and corporate welfare.
so, maybe the colonial period in canada needs to be drawing to a close, then.

maybe that's a mental adjustment that people need to make - do you think that canada will continue to take in millions of people forever? let's start by realizing that that is unsustainable - that eventually canada will need to reduce immigration.

if we're having a housing crisis, and don't see an obvious way out of it, maybe it's time we stopped flying people in.

patchouli is pretty gross - and that's an objectively true, factual statement.

i'm sorry, but if you disagree then you're just wrong.
no, what i want to do is articulate myself as clearly as i can.

the palestinian-israeli conflict (which is not an arab-jewish conflict because the palestinians are not arabs, they're hebrews that converted to islam) is essentially rooted in a dumb argument over which religion gets to dominate the region. yes, there are complicated geopolitical realities at play, but i don't care about that in trying to understand the moral basis of the conflict, itself - which is utterly, amazingly, bafflingly stupid to it's core.

now, you can try to layer in concerns regarding ethnicity or other types of identity, but if you expect me to concede some kind of point by arguing that it's about race instead of religion (as though race is any less stupid or any fundamentally different a concept than religion), you're entirely misunderstanding the position i'm taking on the issue. ethnicity, race and religion are not exactly the same thing, but they're basically the same thing, and i'm not going to react to a stupid, tribalistic conflict about race any differently than i'm going to react to a stupid, tribalistic conflict about religion.

but, i need to reiterate the point - the fundamental point of conflict here is and always has been the religion. the racial issues are secondary, and hard to really define; i'm not going to completely discount the idea that race forms a component of the conflict, but if you're going to look me in the eye and say "this is about race, not religion", i'm going to tell you that you're both incorrect and ignorant - because palestinians and jews are both hebrews, to start with.

so, it's two clans of hebrews killing each other based on their religious beliefs. you might not realize that, and you might not see it that way, but it's because you don't understand it correctly, not because it's wrong.

both sides of the conflict are driven by far right, quasi-fascist paramilitary organizations. this is far more of a caricature of the israeli side than it is of the palestinian side, but it's true on both sides nonetheless.

they both want to wipe the other side out - neither wants co-existence or peace.

and, while it is true that the israelis generally kill more palestinians when it gets going, and i've consistently called for restraint (along with many others), the only fundamental reason that more palestinians die is that the israelis have better technology. if the situation were flipped over in terms of technology, we'd be talking about pogroms and invoking the holocaust. there's no fundamental moral dilemma here - there's just one horrible group with more power than the other horrible group, and that is utilizing that power because it can (and who's to say they shouldn't? if you have power, you should use it - which is why it's important to stop people and systems and organizations from gaining power.).

so, there isn't anybody to support - there's nobody to stand in solidarity with, there's no moral issue to uphold. it's just one group of savages fighting against another. and, i mean you can point to this abuse on that side, or that abuse on the other, but you're missing the forest for the trees - if you want to take anything approaching a moral position for the purposes of it being a moral position, you couldn't possibly support either of these parties, you'd have to look towards some other party as a mediator, to come in and keep them away from each other and offer suggestions to both sides, which is why i keep pointing to the secularists and the apostates.

but, something that's popping up recently is the idea of muslim-washing. i don't mean telling smelly arabs to take a fucking bath, i mean using supposed rights abuses (often dubiously or without context) against muslims to justify things like leaving parties that support shutting down oil pipelines that generate jobs in the region you represent. and, i'm far more concerned about this than i am about this stupid conflict over stupid things that will never end until the place gets fucking nuked.
it seems like ms. atwin has sold out.
i was very critical of ms. paul's policy platform, and her desire to make the party more focused on identity politics. and, here we are - the party is mired in an empty conflict about tribal identity politics, and it could tear it to the ground.

but, let me make a point clear.

i support ms paul in her solidarity with the government of michigan in it's goal to completely shut the line 5 enbridge pipeline down, and that is of actual meaning and concern to me in infinitely greater capacity than a stupid ethnic/religious conflict in a faraway land that i essentially don't care about at all.

and, i would staunchly question the environmental credentials of anybody that would choose to join the liberal party, in the wake of it's legal actions to try to keep line 5 running.
i stand with the apostates. as i always have.

they should bulldoze the al-aqsa mosque and turn it into a shopping mall.
what i would like to see is a secular driven political movement in the region with equal rights for all.

you will see no solidarity for islamists, or for religious zionists, from me.
see, this is exactly the kind of stupid bickering over irrelevant nonsense that i didn't want to see in a climate policy driven party.

climate change is a vote driver in canadian politics.

but, i ultimately don't care very much about the conflict in the levant (in a conflict between one type of right-wing extremism and another, and that has no relevance to my life whatsoever, i'll sit it out - but that could change if one of the parties adopts more appropriate political positions), and don't think it's worth destroying the party over - but, here we are.

the so-called "left" will never get anywhere, and i'd advise young people against wasting their time with it. we have an existential climate crisis on our hands, and they'd rather bicker about religion and ethnic nationalism.

so, with every new social media platform, we get closer and closer to it turning into a bizarre death cult, apparently.

and, they said it was going to separate us from our humanity. pfft.

but, what are the chances that it's some kind of cia psy-op designed to weed out the weak via a set of socially darwinian population control tactics? i'd say pretty high, really.

so, drink your koolad, kids.

or, kill yourself off with a social media challenge.

whatever. less mouths to feed...
if mr. trudeau wants to die on this hill, then great - good riddance.
and to open the U.S. border unilaterally if Canada refuses to participate.

good. that's what small-l liberals in canada hope to see from our friends in the united states - if they're going to drag their feet with illegal, unscientific charades designed to whip up anti-americanism to win votes, just tell the idiots in ottawa to fuck off, and open the border without them. small-l liberal forces on the ground can then agitate further from there, by creating incidents at the border and sending it through the court system, which will force them to follow the damned laws.

sleeping may be undesirable, but it's also unavoidable at times.

let's try to make it a long day, today.
i seem to have found some old noise programming from 2004 that i never used and forgot about. hrmmn.
ok, so i've got this all copied to my main drive, now. now, i need to organize it, condense it and copy it back to several other places.

today's post is the first blu ray flac disc, which has the first 69 releases on it.

===========

purchasing this release does not come with a download.

if you purchase all 6 of the above physical flac dvd disc box sets, i will replace the 6 dvds with one bd on request. note that inri069 will no longer be in the package in flac, but i can send you a personalized google drive share to compensate.
