i've bicycled through there and seen groups of people looking ominously. i'm from the wrong side of the tracks. i've learned how to avoid. but that area has given me the creeps more than once.

the homeless drug users are a problem but they aren't the same kind of problem as the culture of violence in the low income housed population, who mostly don't do drugs, and can afford the ones they do. it's a difference of scale. the focus is getting them off the street, but that often just makes them worse.

as mentioned, i was feeling better at the start of the week, but i lost the weekend, again. i bought some items on amazon to clean up the front with, but i need to wait for the landlord to do some work in there first. i shifted focus to the laundry and the bathroom instead and the laundry is pretty much finished. the bathroom is next, but i again need to wait for the landlord to get in to clean some things up. these issues are going to slow me down and act as bottlenecks but so be it. in the mean time, i can keep cleaning and ordering small things as they come up.

so, that was today, and yesterday, and saturday as well.
