given that the couch was stolen, it may be a while before i set a system up in the living room/studio space. i'm starting to conclude that i probably am not going to set anything up in there at all but am going to have to move it back into storage or to a different space. this isn't working out. but where can i move where i can avoid these idiot stalkers? it's presenting itself as a very difficult problem.

there's no point in leaving the kefs in the other room if the celestions are broken. so, i've moved the jvc/panasonic/kef system, which is my main system, into the bedroom, for now.

in the process, i realized that there's a lot of signal in the air creating buzzes and ground loops. i was able to fix this system by tightening the speaker wire (is that what happened to the celestion tweeter? did it pick up an rf signal in the air and just fry?), but this apartment may be too noisy for me to work in. there's open electrical wires outside the building.

i need to get a multimeter. i've run into this issue more than twice, now, so it's a tool i should have and don't. one of the tweeters is clearly fried, but the other one might be salvageable. i need to see if the circuit is broken or not. if i can determine that the crossover is working and the tweeter has a circuit, i'll see if i can take it in somewhere to look at it. one of the tweeters seems to me like it should be ok, so i need to test the crossover.

it might not cost much to fix it and if it doesn't i should fix it. these are original vintage tweeters. if i determine that i can't fix it, i'll need to buy new tweeters.

this is not the most important thing in front of me right now, and i'm unfortunately just going to have to deal with broken and closeted celestions for the near future.
