my head was still wonky after my tomato sandwich (i bought too much
mayo for thanksgiving, and am probably going to need to get some more
poultry to use it up), so i had to take a nap this evening. i took some
aspirin around 9:00 and it's mostly cleared up.
the
orchestral mix is firming up. i'm not going to town with this like i did
with the other ones - it's a short romp, and everything is just going
to push on, brute force, on top of itself. you should feel refreshed
after listening to it, like you got a power wash.
i'm
going to put a drum mix up, too. i mean, these are programmed drums, but
they're interesting in and of themselves - like somebody caught a robot
phil collins showing off in rehearsal.
and, of the pressing questions in humanity's history: robot vs gorilla?

trump used the argument today that appeasement doesn't work - invoking the spectre of hitler, and the memory of chamberlain.
it's the same argument that antifa uses, and so i'll admit i'm partial to it. it's funny how you can use the same argument to come up with conflicting deductions, isn't it?
the issue all along has been around the question of whether iran is a threat or not. i don't think bush really thought iran is a threat, he was just a tool in the hands of an aggressive policy of conquest. and, i distinctly recall interviews where obama literally laughed at the prospect - he realized that iran is barely even a regional power, and he could just send the turks after them or something if he really had to. he openly referred to the idea that they're any kind of serious threat as comical - as not serious.
trump is a product of right-wing cable news. his ideas were placed in his head by the demagogues that frequent fox news. he seems to honestly believe that iran is a threat to the united states, and that he is truly taking steps to protect the world from harm.
again: i don't think this man is particularly stupid in a literal sense, but he is clearly incredibly ignorant and simply doesn't know how to consult sources, or separate good information from bad information. he is consequently very easily misled. and, i saw that coming.
the threat that the administration should be focusing on is not iran, but the saudis. i am convinced that the next world war will be fought to contain saudi expansionism, under the guise of some kind of neo-islamic imperialism. if we are to learn a lesson from the run up to the second world war, it should be that we cannot be funding the saudis - as we funded hitler.
if the idea of iran as a threat is a farce, the saudis are truly a tragedy waiting to happen.
he has chosen the wrong side of history.

as usual, trump does not get his facts right.
but, you won't get the story from the msm, either.
the sanctions were designed to put the iranians in a vice and force them into compliance. as such, they required international adherence - not just from europe, but from russia and from india and from china. this was working the way it was supposed to.
...but, then, what happened was that the united states put sanctions on the russians. that was the error that obama made: sanctions on russia.
in response, the russians dropped their sanctions on iran. this led the chinese and indians to drop the sanctions as well, as they were now at a competitive disadvantage to russian influence. the deal came out of this collapse, as a face-saving mechanism - otherwise, we wouldn't have received anything at all.
trump doesn't seem to understand that the sanctions require international co-operation to be anything less than sanctions on american businesses. so, what we are going to see is a russian takeover of the iranian oil industry, which will find sufficient markets and trading partners in asia.
is this largely for his base? sure. but, the one thing he had to do here to maintain american influence over this geopolitical space was avoid unilateral sanctions, and he has failed to do this.
somebody give maddow the scoop. i'm sure she can find anonymous sources.

it would be one thing if these migraines were random, but they seem to happen every friday morning between midnight and 6:00, leading me to conclude that there's something environmental about them.
i noticed the smell of dry air this morning, which i've tended to associate with the air conditioner. this morning was different than the last few weeks, because it is not warm out and the air should not be running.
i've long suspected that somebody in the building is smoking something dangerous, like crack or meth. it's a chemical smell. and, while i can't say i smelled it this morning (or all summer...), i'm starting to suspect that it has to do with that dry air.
i'm ok. and i'm staying in this weekend. but i guess we'll need to put this test down: will the migraines come back again next friday?
i had to abandon the mix this morning due to disorientation, but i think it's done. and i think this slab of consciousness should be productive in terms of results.
