i could write an essay on this, but i think the key point is in pointing out that both of these "speakers" broke the #1 rule of "movement building": do not mention god, or spirituality, or "morality" or anything of the sort. as soon as you go off on your little trip of indignant moral self-righteousness, all the actual activists in the room get up and walk out. what's left in the room is a church. and there's your movement you're building.

so, have fun selling books to bourgeois idiots if you'd like, but understand that this is no path forward: it's a circle jerk for the privileged.
