i just want to expand on this a little, because the history is different up here.

the indigenous people of canada are taught that the british monarch is their great protector. they are trained to speak of the monarch as the father, and of themselves as children. and, this is still happening - to our great national shame.

when you try and talk to indigenous people about these things, they repeat the lies they've been told, and grow angry and agitated about it, as they've been taught to.

it's like arguing with somebody that was raised in a cult and taught to attack the outside world as liars and corruptors - because, in truth, that's very much the actual reality of it.

every indigenous person in canada knows that the great lord, the queen, would never harm her beloved indigenous children. begone with these marxist lies!

the courts have more or less refused to address the issue, even going so far as to erect a fiduciary duty by the crown.

of course, when you get people off the reserve, it's a slow process of nursing them back to health, but you can do it. it's the ones that are born and raised there and never leave, or leave infrequently, that are like talking to members of an isolated cult - because that's actually what they are.
