talk to an inuit person some time about their ancestral, traditional food sources. you'd think they have some kind of attachment to that, right? it's their culture, right? and, in fact, it's their sustainable food source, too - they can't and shouldn't be shipping in french fries and coke.
but, do you know what they actually call their own food? do you know how they speak of the caribou, the seal, the narwhal, etc?
they call it "country food", because they're taught that it's dirty, and inferior. they speak of it in hushed tones, guiltily. it's a disgrace - a disgrace to us.
