there's a crest brand that has a whitening component to it.
apparently, the difference is that the stannous fluoride is bioavailable, and the sodium fluoride isn't. that is what i really need - more dietary fluoride, because there's none in the water, here. the sodium fluoride may kill bacteria on contact and/or provide a coating on the teeth, but it doesn't get uptaken or absorbed by your body.
to create a transition back into what i'm doing, the rdi for fluoride - ingested - is 4 mg/day. i'm not even getting .1 mg, as far as i can tell.
so, don't eat toothpaste, kids - but maybe consider using a bioavailable type of fluoride that you can absorb as you're brushing.
