if i use the stuff i'm using now it's .104% fluoride. so, .104x = 4 <---> x = 4/.104 = 38.4615384615.
so, 39 mg. that's something like half the tube. mmm?
what if i used this colgate prevident at .5%? 4/.5 = 8 mg. so, that's more like a tenth of the tube. at $10/tube, that's an expense.
if i figure out how to get a gram or two from diet, though, the cost could come down a lot....
the crest may be the better option for straight swallowing, due to cost.
how much of this stuff is going to kill you? the answer is far more than i thought - quite a lot. and, what is the actual reason you're not supposed to do it? it's because it could lead to "fluoridosis", which is a build of fluoride on your teeth.
well, i'd like a bit of a build-up on my teeth....
so, i'm going to give the world the finger and start swallowing my fucking toothpaste, dammit. it's not much sodium, comparably. i wonder about the silicon, though.
supposedly, children that use novamin exclusively don't develop fluoride spots. is that because they aren't swallowing, or because of the difference in ingredients? the assumption seems to be the latter. and, if kids are swallowing it and surviving, it can't be that toxic.
i'd like a direct answer, though. so, maybe i'll hold off and swallow something with just sodium fluoride, instead.
if i brush thrice a day, and the tube lasts a month, (75/30)/3 = .83 mg. it's a step there, at least.
