i sent a letter to bob's red mill, who makes the fortified nutritional yeast i buy and they responded by explaining that the fortification was removed as a response to a change in canadian regulations. so, how about that, it's not their fault after all, i need to get on my government.

the american version is still fortified.

there's some disinformation on reddit (which is a bad source of information) that "bob" recently died and they shifted corporate direction, but i see that isn't the case. from what i can tell, canadian regulations regarding animal feed changed and it forced them to defortify:
