is this iran fiasco serious?
the russians are there. this isn't granada, it's not even iraq. it's a potentially wwIII starting situation.
so, why is the coverage so middle of the road? why aren't people freaking out? and, you can make an argument for desensitization, but i don't actually think that most people are taking them seriously - not viscerally, not deep down, not in their gut. we seem to collectively know this is theatre.
i don't think that the americans are that crazy. and, let's be clear, here: an american attack on iraq would put them into the same category of rogue state as the worst basket-cases on the planet. they could find themselves losing long term allies, stuck on a thousand foot pier out to nowhere with this israeli noose tied around their neck. the world will rally around the defense of iran.
but, trump needs a bad gay that he can play toy soldier with - and one that's willing to play along.
