the whole violence / nonviolence thing keeps coming up. people want to slander those that reject violence as a bunch of idiot kantians, which is really rather consistent with a sort of nineteenth century marxist arrested development. they then continue that on with this sort of delusional conception of self defense as spinning in circles with arms flailing wildly, seemingly convinced, themselves, that the moral basis of their own violence is enough to overpower their foes. to hell with calculating relative strengths...

i've posted this a few times. it doesn't get into meaningless debates about morality, or teleological projections about the good guys beating the bad guys.

if the left is to rebuild itself in a "scientific" way, it ought to be as an extension of darwin rather than freud.
