ok, it's the same access error i was getting previously.

....meaning that i'm pretty sure i know how to fix it.

i'm going to guess that the increased harmfulness of the attack is a function of the increased difficulty in breaking in and that they're essentially still running the same failed exploit, which i'm going to format yet again.

but, let's see what kind of evidence they left.
