if you want to know what the canadian boreal forest is going to look like very, very soon just look to the immediate south, in montana, wyoming and the dakotas. it's half desert.
the only thing currently preventing canada from looking like the us badlands is the snow. you take away the snow, you get the same thing.
conversely, wyoming is going to look like death valley in 20-30 years.
