there's an opportunity to address the conversation. the science is pretty clear that policing has no effect on crime rates, but rather that property crime is caused mostly by economic inequality and that violent crime is caused mostly by religion.

the issues that need to be addressed at the root cause of crime are the negative social effects of capitalism and religion. throwing police at the issue is a waste of money.

at best, what increased policing can do is put more people in jail, but that's not the same thing as reducing crime.
