to put it another way, i could honestly state that the idea of america, and of the "american dream", does not interest me. i don't want to live in the united states. i'm not interested in the promise or potential of america, i'm not inspired by america and i don't think america leads the way. america is a loser in the global economy.

i'm more interested in living in a low population scandinavian style welfare state, with scandinavian people that have scandinavian values, and canada has historically been more like a scandinavian welfare state than it has been like the united states and it's protestant capitalism.

i consider the united kingdom to be a part of scandinavia and not a part of roman europe - geographically, culturally and historically.
