listen, when you hate the world and everyone in it, there's cause for it - it's not frivolous. i posted the grothendieck link. this is perhaps the greatest mind of the previous century, and he just broke down, ceased to be able to function. he just couldn't live in this world anymore, he had to get out.

the hate and loathing and misanthropy is because of who and what you all are - your values, your beliefs, your behaviour. and, both capitalism and organized religion are primary targets, because of how horribly evil they both are.

but, that means that inside of every misanthrope there's a glimmer of hope for something better, and that's what a religious act can tap into. not only will the darkest of the dark readily grasp on to this when they find it, but they'll connect to it stronger than anything else.

so, it's workable. but, cyr isn't even close to hitting that, nor do i think it's even conscious of it or trying to. it's just an aging rock star trapped between two worlds, and having difficulty adjusting to himself.
