"A theory is a purely mental image of how something should be. In other words, the thought in the dark (with eyes closed) comes first, and the comparison with nature (eyes open) comes later. If the imagined agrees with the real, then the theory is correct." - a pre-eminent physicist explaining why theoretical physics is in fact not a valid science at all.
science works through observation, not confirmation bias.
"why don't people take me seriously when i demonstrate that i've found the remains of noah's ark?"
well, it would be the same process. you come up with an idea, then you find evidence to prove it right.
actual science is supposed to begin with experiments, and then construct ideas from observing the results of the experiments. how many physicists out there are doing that? absolutely none of them.
instead, we get this childish pre-occupation with "theory" and an array of fools that will go so far as to tear you down for not having one. it's depressing, really.
all theory is nonsense.
destroy all theory.
revel in sensory observation.
i mean, honestly. that's the kind of thing somebody would say to discredit science. i hope he was misquoted.
