yes, he's obviously joking.

i'd still like to see him try it, though.

it's a reflection on the state of democracy in america, that this is legitimately comical, rather than frightening.

for fuck's sakes.

how many of his idiot supporters will just believe him?

but, the point i'm making is that joe biden is exactly the same fucking thing as donald trump.

vote for biden - he's just like trump, but with 60% more senility!

(he clearly meant 200,000, not 200 million. but, if trump - or bush - made that error, you wouldn't write it off as an honest mistake. and, you should be judging this idiot by the same standards you judge the other idiots by.)

and, this is the garden path that the government has walked us down - people will expect another lockdown, another $2000/month check and a perpetual shutodwn.

because being able to hug your grandparents is the most important thing, and the whole world should be shutdown indefinitely so that you can.

if they had listened to the science from the start, rather than base their policy on what they saw in their twitter feeds, they wouldn't have created this kind of unrealistic set of expectations.

but, here we are - and this is what people expect at this point.

john turner is dead, huh?

guess he didn't have a choice, after all.

i always hated the randianism underlying that clip; it was right out of a fucking rush song. and, the fact that he sat there and took it like an idiot always pissed me off.

well, he's not making any more choices, now.
it's nice to see some more grounded analysis.

we'll need to wait until samhain before we can begin to make a serious analysis as to what was effective and what wasn't. and, we won't be able to seriously draw conclusions until saturnalia, at the earliest.

likewise, it's too early to jump to this conclusion, even if it seems to be that way.

it's a tautological fact - by definition - that the vast majority of people are roughly at or below average intelligence.

only a small number of people are above average intelligence.

by definition.
“There’s good evidence from Spain, France and Austria that show that once it circulates in large numbers in 20-year-olds, it quickly emerges into the community in general. It then percolates up into the older age groups, and that’s where we know this disease has significant, dramatic impacts on mortality, hospitalization and very serious illness,” he said.

fine.

“We’re asking our young people to recognize the effect that can have. Even though they can feel that they’re invulnerable, the community is vulnerable.”

but, it's just clearly the wrong approach.

we can be quixotic about this - and fail.

or, we can be smart about it, and realize that the way to stop the virus from percolating upwards is to shield the elderly, and not to restrain the young.

while we should be empathetic and responsible as best we can, we cannot live our lives for the benefit of the elderly, who have already lived, and are nearing the ends of their lives. a free society must be built upon the prospects of the young, and not around the memories of the elders.

i'm sorry if you disagree, but you're wrong.

and you will lose - you will fail - unless you are more intelligent in your approach.

and, i can only appeal to the future, and ask them for hindsight.

but, you'll probably just call me an idiot - and have no concept of the irony, when you do.
