i also found a much cheaper (read: free.) solution to the getting-the-bike-out-of-the-living-room conundrum: i've locked it to the railing in the stairs. in fact, i've lodged it in the wall by the handlebars, but it's locked for extra support. twice. so, i can avoid buying that nook, at least for now.

i still need a bookcase for my bedroom, and i'm looking to replace my destroyed cabinet/dresser thing (which i had little utility for) with a sturdy table. it's a shame about that thing, but it just couldn't handle the moves - it was really the movers that destroyed it. i won't call that guy back.
so, they deposited my $300. and, i double checked - the loan isn't cancelled. that would imply that my letter writing campaign did actually work.

so, if you're in student loan debt and you got your carbon credit this time and didn't get it before, then you're welcome.

as i said at the time: it was probably a stupid oversight, and they probably missed it because it didn't cross their mind. it makes no sense at all that they intended to withhold it - it counteracts the intent. they just needed somebody to point it out.

have you heard a word from the ndp about this? i haven't.
