actually, there's this chaldean church across the street from me that appears to have been taken over by iraqi & syrian refugees; i don't know if the church itself is changing functions or they're merely donating the space, but the parking lot has been converted into a giant islamic festival this weekend.

they're just incredibly loud. it's like they're having a concert across the street. well, it's not "like" it... it is it...

and, i don't want to hear muslim religious music any more than i want to hear gospel music. i can't understand the language, but it's no doubt highly oppressive and exceedingly intimidating. you're supposed to go in the church, guys.

last night, i went with the bad religion trilogy as a rationalist foil to their dark age ideology, and followed it up with the last record, true north. keep yourself in line - there's no design. thanks, greg. i decided to react this evening with soundtracks for the blind, followed by the classic ministry trilogy - the land of rape & honey, the mind is a terrible thing to taste & psalm 69. i didn't get through all five records before they shut down a little after midnight.

if they're back at it tomorrow, i'll have to pull out the nine inch nails.

soundtracks was intended as a tongue-in-cheek reaction - it's not explicitly anti-religious, the way my other choices are. but, it worked out in surreal ways i hadn't predicted.

"i feel like minus something"
"i'm you're property"
"...and, the children you injured will rise up, purified, and then kill your name!"

those are just a couple of the lines that got me.

and, i'm trying to avoid stuff like red mecca or life in the bush of ghosts. i'm just concerned about being misunderstood...
