doctors are going to need to start making better choices: they don't have the resources to just put every hopeless geriatric off the street on life support for six weeks at a time, and let their family support concession sales while they cry in the lobby. they're going to have to start making smarter choices about who gets on the system and who is correctly written off as hopeless from the start.

.....and, they're going to need to pull their heads out of their asses and realize that that is their fucking job.

the solution is prevention - and it needs to be both targeted towards the weak and severe in extent or it won't work.
