i don't have anywhere near as many cds as i used to. so, i thought they'd all fit nicely on the giant wood bookcase i bought for $15 in march.

nope.

i looked around on kijiji and there was nothing, but i was lucky to find a 72" bookshelf on sale for $50 at walmart, with free shipping. i've been shopping around for a few months, and these items are usually close to $200. so, it's a god deal. and, coming...

so, i think i should be able to get all of the books on the two small cases and all of the cds on the two big ones. there will be extra space on the second cd case for extra books or whatever else.

and, it'll be here in a few days.

that's a major annoyance finally resolved, then. in my last apartment on bronson, i had.....6 bookshelves, in total - 1 taller and wider bookcase for cds (with 7 shelves), a medium case beside it for paperbacks and general textbooks, a tall case around the corner for vinyl and burns, a big case in my bedroom for binders and rough work and two very small cases for math, physics & programming textbooks. and, i had space.

i replaced the third case a few years ago, and now have two medium cases for books instead of one medium and two small. i'm going to have two tall cases for cds, instead of one. that leaves the big case for binders, but what i've really replaced that with is a couple of tables.

if i can get a last one, it's actually going to be for in the kitchen to put loose things on, as this place lacks sufficient cupboard space.

if these items survive - and i see little reason to think they won't - then i should have that problem solved, moving forwards. finally.

if you haven't been reading this since 2014, i initially wanted to build a custom shelf in the previous basement, but i kept getting foiled by bad weather, low funds and eventually clutter from troubleshooting the interference. i couldn't do anything in the last apartment. and, i've been waiting to clean this place forever...

but, it's solved, now.
