i've had backlashes both ways. i remember a kid in grade school that looked me in the eye at the end of the school year, after the tan had come in, and said "i thought you were white!". and, i can also remember tanned girls in high school start giving me the cold shoulder after hallowe'en, when they realized i'm more white than they thought.
