in all seriousness, legalized marijuana shops with safe distribution chains would likely reduce petty crime in the riding. i mean, if you think there's no pot in oakville, you're certainly smoking something - even if cocaine is no doubt preferable to the upper class, white folks (many, who no doubt vote conservative) that make it their home. the reality is that it comes in through shady vectors, and brings shady people in with it. if you're concerned about property value and criminal activity, you should interpret legalization as a net positive in keeping organized crime out of the riding. and, hey - maybe you might even want to think about relaxing on your no doubt substantial deck, putting on a tune and smoking one up with a nice glass of wine and some friends. who knows: you might even smile. no laws broken, no harm done.
