we're currently in a kind of a loop, where the liberals pass gun control laws to appease their base and then the conservatives undo them to appease their own. so, the focus is just on whether we're going to have these laws or not, and the issue is reduced to a fundraising cash cow, and a way to rev up the base.

meanwhile, nobody's even talking about restoring funding to services, which have been systemically cut by both liberals and conservatives, incrementally, since the 80s.

so, the issue is just getting worse.

and, it's just going to keep getting worse until people change their approach and realize what the answer actually is.
