i purchased groceries on friday, enough that it should last me for the rest of the month.

i need a new blender.

for now, i'm going to continue to eat through the rest of the food bank food, and get through that broccoli soup a little later. one of the things they gave me was a package of smoked meat, that's been in the freezer for a while.

i bought a number of items explicitly for this that i don't eat a lot of but that i like and consider junk, like dill pickles. i enjoy the dill pickles, but they're just empty calories. they're going to be eaten in my tomato sandwiches and my caesar salad, but i needed them for the smoked meat sandwiches.

i bought a loaf of french sourdough, as well. these are the big loaves, so that you cut one piece in half to make both sides of the sandwich. i'll use the rest of it for my french broccoli soup.

- i took four of the middle pieces out and cut each in half, and toasted all of them
- two of the slices were put aside to eat with margarine only
- two were for thick smoked meat sandwiches

- i put the smoked meat in the microwave, covered, and zapped it for 33 seconds five times, waiting for a small time frame in between.
- i put four pieces of bacon on the stove
- the sandwich is built as follows:

- sourdough bottom
- caesar dressing
- smoked meat
- yellow mustard
- dill pickle
- monterrey jack
- bacon
- cheddar cheese
- frank's
- sourdough top (with more mustard)

i'll have that with a tall glass of orange-grapefruit juice.

i'm not a jew. i don't care if it's kosher.
