there remains no discernible business case for another pipeline to bc (although that's not my concern. i am concerned about the environmental effects.) and there is essentially no possibility of a private company stepping in. i'm not worried about this.

carney is probably trying to create competition with an expansion to keystone, which i also oppose, and which is dangerous and stupid and would rightfully get him assassinated if the americans weren't a bunch of pansies nowadays.
because airports aren't infrastructure. apparently.

canada spent decades fighting off the vultures at the imf, only to sleepwalk into their parasitic control, in fear of empty threats by donald trump. we are the dumbest fucking country in the world.

comments by outside politicians warning canada not to be naive in it's interactions with authoritarian regimes are themselves naive. canada was at one time many decades ago somewhat of a haven for liberalism, but it has been sliding into the worst kind of authoritarianism for many, many years and has in truth already arrived at that point several years ago. canadians should be on the streets protesting and striking against these kinds of laws, but the reality is that few people here attach much value to the freedom that we used to have, and the people of this country flatly deserve the outcome they get.
