this is the only workable solution to the iran problem, but they don't have machinery - planes, tanks, etc. the kurds can fight one on one with the best of them. we know that. they have the right ideology; they believe women are people, for example. but they will need air support, eventually.

even if the kurds can kind of cut the irgc off a little, for now, that could potentially liberate a few regions, and if they can generate autonomy, they could set up a parallel state with parallel institutions. that's the right approach in the long run.

parachuting in the shah isn't going to help anybody except british petroleum, and even they probably don't get that name drop, because it was so long ago. the shah was the tool the west used to counter the last real revolution in iran; the last time iranians had a taste of freedom, the shah was how we got rid of that. if the republicans start seriously dangling the shah over iran like a sword of damocles, all bets are off.

but the kurds are a revolutionary socialist group and they will liberate areas and fight for peoples' freedom. they are worth having solidarity with, and they are the right way to actually have an actual revolution in iran.
