yeah, the entire concept of paying to get out of jail is inherently irrational. bail should be determined strictly by the threat an individual poses. cash bail should be forbidden altogether, not made mandatory - nobody should ever be allowed to ever pay to get out of jail, ever.
this will make our communities less safe by allowing wealthy criminals a back door out of jail.
