this is similar to the argument i was making.
the whole point of electing mark carney is that he's not supposed to make these fundamental economic mistakes. you expected trudeau to listen to his advisors. he doesn't know any better. but you expect carney to step in and say "hey, what a second, this is dumb. a second year economics major would know better than this. this is a mistake, we're not doing this."
does carney really have much decision making influence or authority in the pmo, or is the civil service really directing policy, and doing so foolishly?
