this is very disappointing.

it's rather apparent that the wynne-led government does not have the same commitment to environmental issues as the mcguinty government - that she is rather more concerned about issues of fiscal management. and, that's got my vote wandering elsewhere. i hope that the ndp can present themselves as an electable force some time soon.

this policy is going to lead to a reduction of recycling services - and the message the government is sending is that it doesn't care if it does. it would have been better to raise corporate taxes, to cover the costs.

if unilever won't pay for it, what happens to the plastic? it will end up in the landfill. and, the government is no doubt fully expecting this.
