meanwhile canada should be looking at writing a jobs bill that increases government spending and generates demand.

it might be some kind of proto-fascist theory, i guess that would be closest, but it would not be fascism without the underlying cartelization, which is absent.
the courts are going to laugh at the minister.
she should resign and apologize or be removed for her outburst.

i'm aware of no economic or legal theory that supports the idea of maintaining employment via the industry minister of a country aggressively ordering and emotionally demanding private sector companies to maintain full employment, despite decreases in aggregate demand and the subsequently incurred losses that are resultant from that.

when economies go into recession due to decreases in aggregate demand, keynesian economic theory - which the liberal party has supported and implemented for decades and would be expected to continue to support and implement - argues that demand should be generated through increases in government spending.

again, canada's liberal party appears to have recently embraced the illogical theory of reaganomics. this is exposing itself as a consistency in policy across the government.
you don't create jobs by ensuring supply exists. jobs are a function of demand, not a function of supply.

there's no demand for the product. what does she expect them to pay the workers to do when the company isn't selling anything?
her demands are irrational and the court will probably reject them and side with the company. contracts are not legally binding in canada. the court has the power to dissolve contracts, does and will if they don't make any sense, or lack characteristics defined in contract law. that would appear to be the case.
the basic point is that you cannot sign away your rights, which is what this unreasonable airhead seems to be incorrectly insisting that the company did.
