the muslim world - north africa, the middle east, turkey, iran - made up a substantive theatre in the second world war, with italian and german troops seeking to liberate arabs from british and french colonialism, after the collapse of the ottoman empire (which was aligned with germany in world war one). the german/nazi propaganda reflected that.

this was a massive part of the war, and it was a german campaign against british colonialism, with arab revolutionaries on the ground as major allies - not dissimilar to the taliban fighting against nato, or isis trying to set up a caliphate.

i'm not exactly making an argument about islam in germany here. i'm pretty distant. i think it's obvious there's a problem that needs to be addressed. i wouldn't vote for the afd for other reasons.

i'm just looking for accuracy and clarity.

the narrative is ass backwards. the "far right" sounds like winston churchill. the "progressive left" sounds like adolf hitler.
