despite what i said about insanity or not criminally responsible defences, and how a science-based system of law would enforce greater sentences and not lesser sentences on people found to be not criminally responsible (it shouldn't be a defence to a charge, it should be a sentencing criteria that
increases the severity of sentences), i actually would reject the argument if i was the judge.
