the "prime minister" of qatar is actually a monarch, not an elected official. he is a member of the emir's family and is appointed and deposed at the emir's pleasure.

qatar is not a democracy, it is a brutal theocracy with no concept of any sort of human rights or political rights, no free speech or freedom of expression, no rights for women and what is essentially a continuing use of migrant slave labour. it is well known that qatar is a substantive financier and sponsor of religious extremism and terrorism across the middle east. it's one of the most backwards, brutally oppressive countries on earth.
