chronological literature timeline

i will eventually make use of the timeline feature in blogger to post reviews of books to the dates in the timeline that the books were released. for now, i'm creating a second list that contains the chronology. i like to hardcode my html in general so that it doesn't break ten years after you die; i don't like using programming approaches that have short shelf lives and are doomed to obsolescence. it's just a different perspective.
