the question at the start may come off as probing and deep or whatever, but it's actually rather circular because you would have had to have been told there was meaning in the first place to think that there is. you wouldn't just intuitively conclude that a god exists and there's a meaning to life and all the rest of the nonsense. i'd rather take a position of being critical of putting lies into children's brains than being skeptical about the perceptive effects of rationality.

and, speaking from experience, i was raised as an atheist. i was never told that a god exists. i was never told i'm a part of some plan. and, i consequently never experienced the shattering moment being eluded to.


i was told santa claus exists. it didn't take me long to figure out he didn't. but, that was a lot harder to deal with.
