i saw mykki blanco open for bjork a few years ago and thought it was absolutely terrible. that's not a unique reaction to what it is; i've always found something very offsetting about drag shows and the whole "female impersonation" thing. it's just very much not my scene: i'm transgendered, not a transvestite.

but, if you wonder why i'm apprehensive about the left aligning itself with religious fundamentalism...
