there's nothing more pathetic than an aging person trying to hold on to their youth. it's ok to get older. that's called maturity. rejecting aging is called immaturity.

that doesn't mean you need to fall into bad stereotypes. 

but an intelligent and mature person should not be able to relate to cultural ideas being marketed to 20 year-olds and those that try to are either being pretentious poseurs or are legitimate immature retards. growing up a little means your tastes in music and other forms of art should mature to reflect things that older people can relate to.

at this point, i'm far more interested in music that is explicitly about aging than i am in pretending that i'm 15 years old. i'm not. and i don't want to be.

valid, talented, worthwhile, substantive artists should age with their listeners.
