does that mean that we should abolish central banks?

no.

but i think that the idea of taking monetary policy out of the hands of elected decision makers is undemocratic. the central bank has other things to do and should continue to exist, but interest rates should be set by elected representatives and not be made by independent bodies acting out of the control of the executive or legislative branch.

in canada, there should be an elected minister responsible for setting rates and a ministry responsible for overseeing it.
