i have been disappointed by the americans' tactics in carrying this regime change out. trump does not appear to want to implement regime change, he appears to want to force an agreement on the existing fascist state. this will not help the people of iran overthrow their fascist cult government. further, the many months that have been wasted on endless go-nowhere negotiations have simply made it more difficult to get to that end point.
trump appears to have given up on trying to convince the iranian dictatorship to sign an agreement. reports suggest that, rather than aggressively move to replace the dictatorship, he is planning to take out his frustration on iranian civilians by destroying civilian infrastructure. this is the opposite of what i tentatively supported.
the blockade, which i may have suggested, is likely to succeed in the long run but they need to put it in place for a long time and trump wants this done faster than that. they also need to actually blockade them.
i would still support a brutal operation to eliminate the iranian dictatorship by destroying it's infrastructure and eliminating it's leadership. that does not mean one or two people, it means wiping out the full theocracy - the judges, the police, the bureaucracy.
i am not interested in punishing the iranian people for the brutality of their dictatorship and don't understand the logic in it. if trump wants to aimlessly and illegally destroy iran for no reason and as a means to punish it's dictatorship for disobeying him, he should be removed from office by the people closest to him. that is not an acceptable policy.
this has to have an endpoint of regime change, and bounds for it need to be generated very soon.
