i am not a jew, and i'm certainly not a christian or muslim. i would adhere to the hitchensian view (hitchens being the most recent prominent proponent) that the judaic god is a complete asshole and that while he is obviously a mythical figment of some backwards bronze age tribe's imagination, if he did exist we'd have to overthrow and kill him. the hebrew god could only be seen as an extreme threat to human freedom. the french revolution had the correct approach to this question: burn it down and bury it. violent revolution against this barbaric god would be the only approach possible for a freedom-loving culture, which is why europe had to spend 1000 years fighting against christian colonization being enforced on it by the south and barely survived in tact, before emerging stronger for having fought against christianity and defeated it.

if this asshole god existed, which is their god too, what would it do to the people of gaza? about what happened to them, exactly.

the hard truth is that the outcome in gaza is the correct outcome.

history will acknowledge the destruction of gaza as justice served cold, and viciously, and with the feeling of divine retribution, on a people getting what they had coming, because they deserved it for how they behaved.

the god of the hebrews and arabs would approve this outcome and while i don't believe this god exists, and would support overthrowing it if it did (i'm a greek at heart), i would be on it's side on this one, in converting gaza to ash and rubble for it's crimes. 

sometimes, brutal retribution is the correct response. you gain that insight with age and with maturity, if you're smart.
