the reality is that almost every day in southern ontario - windsor, sarnia, london, guelph-kitchener-cambridge-waterloo, brantford, hamilton-burlington, niagara-st catherines and the us cities of detroit and buffalo but not really toronto proper because of the lake - in the summer nowadays, which starts in april or may and ends in mid to late october and sometimes early november, is pushing 30 degrees celsius, without the humidex, and over 35 when it's humid, which is very often. in fact, the official seasonal high in windsor from july-august is just a hair under 30 degrees. that's not a "heat wave". that's normal.
those are highs over 85 F, or over 95 F with the humidex, in detroit, as seasonal norms in 2026.
if you don't like that, move to saskatoon, or to yellowknife. don't come here and complain it's hot and crank the air. it's not going to get better next year. this is the climate, now, in this part of the world. it's hot here. enjoy it or fuck off.
if you do like hot and humid summers, you should come to southern ontario. the summers here are long, hot, humid and stable, with lengthy droughts and periodic storms that break the droughts.
you can grow things here that you can't grow in most of canada and we should grow more of it.
it does still sometimes get cold here in the winter but it's not as bad as it used to be or still is in most of the country.
