ideally, once we get the number of refugees down to something more manageable, we can go back to a reality where the number of illegal immigrants on welfare is a small problem we can ignore.

right now, it's unfortunately a pretty substantive drain on public finances that needs to be corrected, because the federal government didn't understand the consequences of not taking the issue seriously.
