there's nothing in the long range again until the 20th.
i took a few showers and feel a bit better. i'll need to keep that up this week. laundry's totally done, everything's clean; we've got the heat on in the building, so i put some mesh over the vents.
what's next?
i need to rebuild many different computer systems, some of them from scratch. not one. not two. many.
i took some pictures for the coffee table book this morning and am directing this chromebook towards a shift to other machines. ultimately, i'm going to end up in the kitchen, redesigning the kitchen machine.
if i can transfer a few tabs from this device to a the studio chromebook, that will help, for now. i have 14 windows open on this device and it's in constant threat of rebooting.
the windows/tabs i'm going to transfer over have to do with the studio chromebook and the listening room pi.
i've done this before, but let me remind myself.
kitchen chromebook (lenovo thinkpad):
- koc account
- diet blog
- serious blog
- politics blog
- machine often freezes. probably needs clean ram.
- chrome os is very out of date, should consider shifting to linux. research.
pi for listening room:
- pi account
- music web (online/offline)
- music/cd catalog
- unclear which monitor i'm using. may buy one.
email chromebook (hp chromebook):
- adjunct to typing pc in bedroom
- dtk & kcc accounts
- some blog access but move most blog access out of bedroom
typing pc (bedroom)
- for real word processing, including offline blogging
- system intended to be used to build integrated offline multimedia site
studio chromebook (hp):
- bandcamp
- youtube music sites
- pi access for now
commercial chromebook (dell)
- for online orders
- amazon
- walmart
- instacart
- etc
other systems:
- vlogging mini pc in entrance
- security camera pc in other entrance
- 16 bit, 32 bit, 64 bit recording pcs
- several broken laptops to fix or replace
- historical computer systems for journal
- sleeping ipad
this is just a shortlist.
once i get some of the machines properly installed, i can start using them. i currently only really have one chromebook running on my bed with too many tabs and a windows 7 laptop as an alt if the chrome browser isn't working for a site. the kitchen chromebook is running, but it keeps rebooting, and i'm avoiding logging in until i can address the ram issue, early in the new year. setting up the studio laptop and moving the cataloging tabs over to it is overdue, and will have to be good enough until i decide what kind of monitor i want to use. i will probably also do most of the coffee table book on that machine, so i can have the stereo on (my bedroom celestions need new tweeters).
as can be seen, there's a lot to do, still. one thing at a time.
this blog is going to be split up by function. there's going to be a politics blog and a personal journal, in addition to the many other sub blogs. they'll be scattered across the different devices rather than all at this blog. there's also going to be an update blog that will act as an rss feed. i find it difficult to enforce separation when everything's being typed up from the same device. if i use many different devices, separation will be more clear.
that's today - i'm finally setting up a second chromebook and moving the media tabs over to it.
