that's a verbatim quote from a social media post that was obviously a marketing stunt.
i looked into this much more closely a few months ago. i am not an ai expert but i've read the textbook and done the homework assignments for a graduate level course on ai, and i am a quasi-expert on computer mathematics (the theory behind ai). i'm about as good of a source as you'll find outside of finding somebody that works in industry. i understand what they're saying, can deconstruct it and can analyze it. and i'l tell you that what they're describing isn't likely to kill you. but it does look like it's likely to hack your personal devices to generate hyper-personalized ads.
i repeat: this technology could be a paradigmatic shift in how corporations advertise their products and could be a multi-billion dollar industry in creating personalized ads. this bs about computers taking over the world looks like smoke and mirrors when they get accused of stealing personal data.
"i didn't do it, the ai did it."
right. hey, they got 11 of 12 jurors to fall for "post-partum psychosis". how hard can it be to convince a jury that the ai stole your data, not amazon or google or microsoft?
i don't see the use for this technology, as an individual, and i don't foresee ever having any legitimate use for it. but, i'll tell you - if you think the ads are bad now, wait until the ai really gets running. you'll be dreaming ads - and you'll wake up to sales pitches.
